    Born in Los Gatos, California, Cox grew up in Elk Grove, California and attended Elk Grove High School where she helped lead her soccer grupp to two league championships. She was named to the all-section team as a junior and senior, won the youth All-American award from NSCAA and was named a Parade Magazine All-American. On top of her numerous soccer achievements, she also lettered in basketball for three years and graduated with a 4.17 GPA.

    Cox attended the University of Portland, where she started 23 matches her freshman year. In 2005, after returning to the Pilots following a redshirt årstid to play for the US, Stephanie helped lead her grupp to an undefeated record of 23–0–2 and an NCAA Championship and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. The following season, she started in 13 games and scored her first collegiate goal.

    American soccer coach and former player

    Stephanie Renee Cox (née Lopez; born April 3, 1986) is an American soccer coach and former professional player who played as a defender. She is currently the head coach of the Puget Sound Loggers women's soccer team.[3]

    As a player, Cox played as a defender for the United States women's national soccer team and won an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

  • Stephanie Lopez is a native Los Angeles enthusiast who was born and raised in Koreatown area attending Los Angeles Senior High School. She comes from a low income migrant family and is a first generation college student. It was this motivation that fueled her into pursuing higher education.

    My name is Stephanie Lopez and I am in my fifth year as the Academic Counselor, last name A-K for CHAMPS Charter High School of the Arts. 


    After Earning My Degree: 


    After graduating, I began working as an Academic Advisor with GEAR UP 4 LA, which is a federally funded program that works to address challenges faced by the low income, first-generation, minority students. Through my experience there, I grew my desire to continue giving back to my community in a more direct role as a school counselor.

    I come from a low income migrant family and as a first generation college student I recognize the struggles I faced in high school not knowing wha
