1. While there remain a number of active blood feuds in Albania, they are few and declining. There are a small number of deaths annually arising from those feuds and a small number of adults and children living in self-confinement for protection. Government programmes to educate self-confined children exist but very few children are involved in them.

publishes the memoirs of the well-known reporter, publicist, translator, researcher, writer, playwright and diplomat, Bashkim Trenova, who after graduating from the Faculty of History and Philology of the State University of Tirana, in was appointed a reporter at Radio- Tirana in its Foreign Directorate, where he worked until , when he was appointed journalist and head of the foreign editorial office of the newspaper ‘Zeri i Popullit’, a body of the huvud Committee of the ALP. In the years , he served as chairman of the Publishing Branch in the General Directorate of State Archives and after the first free elections in Albania, in March , he was appointed to the newspaper ‘Rilindja Demokratike’, initially as deputy / editor-in-chief and then its editor-in-chief, until , when he was appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the position of Press Director and spokesperson of that ministry. In , Trenova was appointed Ambassador of Alban • / Gjetë Ndoj, the former General Director of the Central Archive of the Albanian State, and also for years part of the political structures, (as the head of a small party), at the same time a historian, researcher and well-known publicist, author of several historical books, among others, he has also written a book (monograph), dedicated to the well-known general from Mirdita, Gjin Marka Toma, one of the central figures of the Albanian Communist Party and the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, who had a tragic fate, after spending long years of his sentence in Burel prison, where he died of a serious illness, in August , after the President of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly at that time, Ramiz Alia (subordinate to Gjin Markut during the War), refused to release him by decree, so that he would die at home.
