Devotion brings sublimation.And souls inhabit the evolved lives or they have the ability to reform one.When enstaka route to Puri we visited a small village called Baligaon. Nestling amidst lush greenery, with coconuts, rice fields and banyan trees and several ponds of clear water very often blessed with lotus flowers, the thatched huts and dusty roads led us to the holy nation of Dasia Bauri.
Dasia Bauri was a great devotee of Lord Jagannath in the 15th century AD.He was born into a low caste of weavers’ family and lived with his wife Malati in a hut on a small piece of land. For a living he did his traditional weaving.They lived in abject poverty and managing two meals a day was not possible on several occasions.

The great devotees like Jayadeba, Ramanujacharya, Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu are glorified by their Prema Bhakti(Prema-Love,Bhakti-Devotion) in this holy land but some of great devotees are not well known to others.One such stalwart devotee is Dasia Bauri.
What does Dasia Bauri means? Dasia means the servant and Bauri a low-caste.
As we all know Casteism is a fundamental practice in Hindu religion.Some how it reduces es to some extent due to the modernization and change in the way of thinking of people now.But it is their in most of the parts in India. Casteism was also a major fundamental practice in that time when a stalwart devotee born(500 years ago).

Bauri is a community of indigenous people primarily residing in Bengal & Odisha and considered as one of the Scheduled Castes of India.[5][6] The Bauris belong to the Bhil tribe.[7][better source needed] They are usually involved in activities like farming. The Bauris of Purbo Tila Moulvibazar in Bangladesh are usually involved in medicinal practices . The prime festivals they celebrate are known as Mansa Puja, Durga Puja and Kali Puja.
Bauris numbered 1,091,022 in the 2001 census in the state of West Bengal. 37.5 per cent of the Bauris were literate - 51.8 per cent males and 22.7 per cent females were literate. Only 4.7 per cent of the Bauris were matriculates or completed schooling.[8]

[edit]They are primarily residing in Bengal found in large numbers in Bankura, Birbhum, Purulia and other districts in Indian state of West Benga
