Trinidad officials confirm Baptiste's doping absence
Along with Semoy Hackett, Baptiste left Moscow before competition started on Saturday and Trinidad's National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA), who initially declined to give a reason, issued a statement confirming the wide-reported news.
"The absence of both athletes is related to doping matters of varying degrees and complexity," the statement said.
"In the case of Ms. Baptiste this association was notified on Aug. 8 by the IAAF and the results management process is currently under way and, as a result, any further comment at this stage would be premature and inappropriate.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Kelly-Ann Baptiste withdrew from the World Championships due to a 'doping matter', her national athletics federation has confirmed.
Two years ago the year-old won metres bronze at the last World Championships in Daegu and had again been expected to challenge for a podium spot in Moscow.
T&T team manager Dexter Voisin confirmed her voluntary withdrawal from the team on Saturday, but only today has the National Association of Athletics Administrations officially confirmed the reasons behind Baptiste and fellow sprinter Semoy Hackett’s absence.
