L'Ader Avion III ou Aquilon est un avionmonoplan expérimental, conçu entre et par l'inventeur françaisClément Ader (un des pères de l’aviation). I moved to France about two years ago to work for Airbus in its Blagnac offices. Blagnac is a small village close to Toulouse. The place radiates passion for aviation (I once shared the geek outlook of my dentist&#;s waiting room).
My office is located at the avenue Didier Daurat, to get there I cross two roundabouts: Maurice Bellonte and Émile Dewoitine&#; these names probably do not ring a bell to most of you. Neither did to me. But then the back street is called Charles Lindbergh. It is then that you realize what might be going on and wonder who the previous names were.
Many months ago I collected the names of some of the streets of Blagnac and Colomiers (the village at the other side of the airport were Airbus is also located), and then, with the help of Google and Wikipedia, I searched who they were. I started a trip into French aviation history through the life of its pioneers&#;

If you were asked “who invented the first functional aircraft?” what would your answer be? It would probably be the Wright brothers. Although your answer wouldn’t be wrong there is more to it than that. We have many inventors in the history of aviation who don’t get enough recognition and eventually become forgotten. One of these creative inventors who came up with great inventions that propelled aviation industry forward was Clement Ader. Along with constructing a gas balloon, he also invented two flying machines with bat shaped wings that were marvellous and innovative.
Clement Ader was a self taught engineer and a brilliant uppfinnare from France. His first flying machine Ader Eole managed to rise 20 cm (8 in.) from the ground for 50 meters ( ft.).
