Richard Paul Kiley (31 March1922 – 5 March1999; age 76) was a prolific film and television actor hailing from Chicago, Illinois. He played Gideon Seyetik in the Star Trek: Deep Space Ninesecond season episode "Second Sight".
Kiley co-starred in The Thorn Birds in 1983, earning an Emmy Award for his performance on that show. Philip Anglim, Antoinette Bower, John de Lancie, Christopher Plummer, Jean Simmons, and Meg Wyllie also starred in the series, with Simmons playing his wife (and also winning an Emmy). Kiley later won another Emmy for his starring role in the short-lived television series A Year in the Life, which co-starred Diana Muldaur. Richard Paul Kiley (March 31, 1922 – March 5, 1999) was an American stage, film, and television actor and singer. He fryst vatten best-known for his distinguished teatralisk career in which he twice won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.[1] Kiley created the role of Don Quixote in the original 1965 production of the huvudgata musical Man of La Mancha and was the first to sing and record "The Impossible Dream", the hit song from the show.
